1. Instituto & Rappin' Hood - "Dia de Desfile"
Very elegant fusion between samba and hip-hop by producers Rica Amabis and Tejo Damasceno (Instituto), featuring Brazil's hip-hop genius Rappin' Hood in the vocals. Get ready to be blown away by the bass line...

2. CSS (Cansei de Ser Sexy) - "Acho Um Pouco Bom"
The UK's favourite Brazilian electro / funk / dance / pop / art school rockers, here in one of their rather rare Portuguese tunes.

3. Natiruts - "Au de Cabeça"
Refreshingly new reggae sounds from Brasilia, Natiruts are also known for their often highly politicised lyrics. Luckily, especially considering Brazil's political landscape.

4. Os Mutantes - "A Minha Menina"
Late 60's Tropicália greats and the world's favourite Brazilian psychedelic rock band, Os Mutantes have been cited as an important influence by the likes of David Byrne, Sean Lennon, Beck and Sepultura - Kurt Cobain even requested their reunion in 1993.

5. Max de Castro - "Pra Você Lembrar" (DJ Patife Remix)
DJ Patife's drum and bass version of Max de Castro's "Pra Você Lembrar", this one was critically acclaimed in the London dance scene in 2000 and praised by British dance magazines such as Muzik and MixMag.

6. Ratos de Porão - "Crucificados Pelo Sistema"
1'22" of pure punk by João Gordo's "Basement Rats": great, straightforward, political, angry and fun(ny).

7. Tim Maia - "Sossego"
1978 hit by Brazil's late funk and soul legend and one of the most influential and charismatic musicians of the industry. Bless.
